Shaolin Temple is located at the foot of Shaoshi mountain li wu ru peak 12km northwest Deng Feng city, Henan province. It?s named Shaolin Temple because it is built in forest. Shaolin Temple is the original place of Shaolin kung fu, It's a very famous temple and it?s called "the first temple on the earth". Shaolin kung fu is famous all over the world. Shaolin Temple was built Taihe year Beiwei dynasty (495), 32 years after the famous India monk putidamo came to Shaolin Temple to teach Chanzong. Damo was called "The Ancester of Chinese Buddism Chanzong". Shaolin Temple is called "The Ancester Family of Chanzong". Most of the buildings in Shaolin Temple were built in Ming or Qing dynasty, the whole temple is about 30 thousand square meters. The Buddha palace in the temple is amazing, there are colorful paintings on east, west and north wall and they were painted in Ming dynasty. The famous buildings in the temple like Mountain door, Fangzhang room, Damo ting, White coloth palace, Dizang palace, Tianwang palace, Chuzu temple, Damo cave, Erzu temple, Faru tower, Tongguang tower were built in tang dynasty, Fahua tower were built in Wudai dynasty and Yuangong tower were built in Yuan dynasty. The buildings are unique and play an important role in Chinese temple construction.
Shaolin Kung Fu
The Shaolin martial art is not a creation of one person, but an accumulation of works by millions of people. Shaolin martial art is the pearl of Chinese wisdom, which was handed down by numerous generations of China's top martial artists.
Shaolin was divided into five major schools: Hen Na (Song Shan) shaolin, Fu Jian shaolin, Guang Dong shaolin, Si Chuan shaolin and Hu Bei shaolin. Shaolin began with many small schools and styles within the Shaolin art. It also can be divided respectively into northern and southern shaolin style as well.
Shaolin kungfu has a vast content and numerous forms. There are some important aspects of gong fu such as: internal kungfu, external kungfu, hard kungfu, light kungfu, qi gong, etc. The internal kungfu mainly focuses on practicing the strength of one's body; the light kungfu focuses on the jump especially; qi gong includes practise and maintenance of qi. Shaolin Gongfu includes hand-to-hand defense as well as the use of weapons. There are forms: staff, spear, broadsword, straight sword, various other weapons, combat, equipments, performance sparring, sparring with weapons, etc.
Introduction of the Masters
Master Shi Yan Hui, a 34th generation Shaolin Disciple, is the general master of the Shaolin Warrior Monks. He joined the Shaolin Temple at the year of 1995 and followed the Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yong Xin to learn the Buddhism theories and Shaolin Kungfu. Ten years of dedication with the great master cultivations let him enter the Wisdom world of Buddhism and makes an excellent Shaolin Worrior monk with great knowledge out of him. He masters well both the Shaolin 18 kinds of Weapons and the 72 secret skills. He has been invited to the U.S., Canada, Germany, India, AUstrilia, UK, Netherlands, Russia, and France to give performances and teachings on Shaolin Kungfu and received lots of passive comments from the Kungfu professions both at home and abroad. He specializes in Shaolin fist forms like Hong Quan, Chaoyang Quan; Shaolin Weapon Forms like Shaolin Staff (Gun), Shaolin Spear (Qiang), Double Swords (Shuang Dao) and Double Whips (Shuang Bian); animal forms like Tiger Forms Eagle Forms and Snake Forms.
Master Shi Yan hao, the 34th generation of shaolin temple, was born in a kungfu family. He started to learn kungfu from his father when he was 3 year old. He came into shaolin temple in 1996 and was Master Shi Yongxin¡¯s apprentice. He joined into shaolin temple kungfu monk group in 2002 and is the main coach now. He is good at shaolin xiaohong quan, dahong quan, xiaopao quan, pao chui, qixing quan, meihua mantice, chang hu xinyi men, taizu chang quan, meihua dan dao, shaolin dao, shaolin gun, yinshou gun etc. Master Shi Yanhao is very good at taiji, bagua,baji. He went USA , Canada , Germany , Indonesia , Austrilia , England , Korea , Thailand , HongKong etc countries many times for performance and terching.
Master Shi Yan ya, the 34th generation of shaolin temple, is coach of shaolin temple kungfu monk group. He came into shaolin temple to learn kungfu in 1999, was Master Shi Yongxin¡¯s apprentice and learned shaolin eighteen weapons, seventytwo skills and good at them(xiaohong quan, dahong quan, erludahong quan, qixing quan, tongbei quan, shaolin quan, xiao luohan, meihua mantis, chang hu xinyi quan, fenmo gun, tiger form, sanjie gun etc.), include qinna, gedou, weapons, internal etc. these are full of internal power, short but powerful, and conbinate Buddhism and kungfu together.
Training Plan The follwing is a rough guide only. Each student will learn at a different rate depending on his/her initial skill level and dedication.
¡ñShort term study
(1 week - months)Shaolin kung fu history and theory, basic punching and kicking with flexibilty training and an introduction to Qi Gong and Tai Ji. 1-6 Shaolin fist forms, Chinese kick boxing with two person sparring and 1 or 2 basic weapons such as the staff, whip, sword or broadsword as well as basic Chinese conversation. All students have the option to learn hard Qi Gong which involves conditioning areas of your body for fighting such as your hands and a student who studies for 1-3 months should be able to cut a house brick in two with their bare hand. ¡ñMedium term study
(4 months - 1year)Shaolin kung fu history and theory, basic punching and kicking with flexibilty training and a more indepth study of Qi Gong and Tai Ji. 6-15 Shaolin fist forms including paired practice and the option of learning an animal form, Chinese kick boxing with two person sparring and more advanced weapons such as spear, double spear, two-section staff, three-section staff, double sticks, double canes (tonfa) as well as Chinese conversation. More advanced levels of hard Qi Gong can be reached including breaking wooden staffs over your legs and arms with no injury and the breaking of house bricks using your elbow or knee. ¡ñLong term study
(over1 - 2years)Shaolin kung fu history and theory, basic punching and kicking with flexibilty training and advanced Qi Gong methods and Tai Ji. Over 20 Shaolin fist forms including advanced forms such as tiger, leopard, monkey, snake, crane, mantis, eagle and druken boxing. Advanced weapon paired practice and advanced weapon forms such as double broadsword, monkey staff, double hooks, druken sword, bull whip, southern staff, southern sword and double chain whip as well as Chinese language, pressure points massage therapy and Buddhism. Advanced levels of Qi Gong can be reached including using your Qi to heal illness and injury and advanced hard Qi Gong such as breaking an iron bar over your head or hammering a nail into wood using the palm of your hand.Students who wish to concentrate their study on the internal martial arts and Qigong can study Taiji, Xingyi and Bagua palm.
¡ñ Of course, to what degree each student will learn depends on the student's physical and mental abilities, desire, and dedication to practice.
Besides the time off at the weekends, students are given each of the following a week¡¯s holiday: Christmas, New Year and Chinese Lunar New Year. At this time, they can stay at the school (and train if they choose), travel or return home (two weeks¡¯ vacation for each of the above vacations).
¡ñ Students can buy different kinds of traditional martial books, martial clothes, and martial equipment with the help of the academy. Note: There is not any form of financial scholarship in the academy.

1.Students must respect the masters, translators and each other. You should live together peacefully and friendly, not fight or cause any bad atmosphere in the school.
2.If a student is struggling with his or her training, you should help them, but you should not laugh at or joke about students who are having difficulty.
3.Respect individual¡¯s belief. No gossiping on other¡¯s personal religion or faith.
4.No drugs, tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol or gambling in the academy.
5.Before you leave the school, you have to let your master know where you are going and get his permission to leave.
Hope every student coming here can live and train peacefully and friendly with students and masters in the academy, those who break those rules are not welcomed.

Formal training in the early morning starts from 6 from Monday to Friday, but you can get up at 5:30 to run a little bit breathing fresh air along the mountain road.
During the week, the students are encouraged to go to bed before 10pm in order to regain strength for the next day's training. Fridays and Saturdays the students can go to bed later than 10pm.
The academy staff working hours is from 6:00 to 20:00. Students are expected to respect these hours because it is impossible to work 24 hours a day, so we must clearly define these hours for the staff. The Internet room is open from 12:30 to 14:00 and 19:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Friday, while open on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 to 11:30 and from 12:30 to 6:00. Browse Internet is $25 US cents an hour in the Internet room. Students also can have Internet access in their rooms with $20 per month. There is a public telephone in the academy that can be used to call your family.
Schedules for asking questions of masters and translators, etc. are as follows:
Shi fu/masters: from Monday to Friday 17:00 to 18:30 (17:00 to 18:00 during winter) in the training hall and ask some questions on kungfu at any time during normal class hours.
Saturday and Sunday is free time for everyone at the academy except for the kitchen staff.
Tuition and fees
One-time non-refundable application Fee (paid prior to attend training at the Academy): $100. Monthly Tuition Fee - paid when the student arrives at the Academy: $380. Monthly Room & Board - includes meals, lodging, shower and washing machine (wash by yourself) - paid when the student arrives at the Academy: $300. In order to motivate students to learn longer, the tuition will be $20 less each month as it goes on. The fee for picking up from airport or train station to the academy is $100 one-way each time.
A one-time Academy Administration Fee is paid when the student arrives at the Academy. For students who register for one month, the administration fee is $200 and for students who register for two months or longer the administration fee is $300. Administration fees are non-refundable.
Students who wish to stay at the academy for one year or longer will receive a discount. Payment for a year is $5520 including food. accommodation ,training and administration fee. Total cost, if paid annually (not including the online application fee and pickup) is:

*If you leave the academy early for some reason, you can get a refund.
*Students can decide the length of stay after trying few days and the pay.
*Student learn for a month will not be refunded.
